Swapping Sensors

For some error messages, it can be beneficial to eliminate the sensor as the root cause of the issue. This can be done by taking a different sensor, and using it without calibration files.

Many times, you'll need to order a loaner sensor to accomplish this, but we can also do this with a machine that has a 2 sensor pan/ceph setup.

When swapping sensors, it is important to note that you can move a ceph sensor to the pan side, but you can not move a pan sensor to the ceph side.

Defective Pan Procedure

If you're testing for a defective pan sensor, you will move the working ceph sensor to the pan side, and take a panoramic image without calibration files in PMSample.

If the sensor still works, you know the pan sensor is defective. If the sensor no longer works, you know another piece of hardware is the root cause.

Defective Ceph Procedure

If you're testing for a defective ceph sensor, you will move the suspected defective ceph sensor to the working pan side, and take a panoramic image without calibration files in PMSample.

If the sensor still does not work, you know the sensor is defective. If the sensor starts working, you know another piece of hardware is the root cause.
